Details of Disappearance: At approximately 2030 hours, October 15, 1964, Johnny Hundley and best friend Jimmy McQueary were reported missing from Fairfax, Hamilton County, Ohio. The boys were best friends and it would have been uncommon to find either boy without the other. They were last seen walking to Johnny’s home from Frisch’s restaurant located at 5770 Wooster Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio. The boys never returned home. Little evidence is available in James and John’s disappearances. They lived about three blocks apart in 1964. Authorities believe their bodies are probably somewhere in the Fairfax area.

Missing From: Martins Ferry, Ohio Missing since: October 2, 2006 Age at Disappearance: 24 Height: 5′ 4″ Weight: 160 Hair: […]

Missing From: Martins Ferry, Ohio
Missing since: October 2, 2006
Age at Disappearance: 24
Height: 5′ 4″
Weight: 160
Hair: Red
Eyes: Blue

Distinguishing Characteristics: Scars, Marks, Tattoos: Caucasian female.

Details of Disappearance: Kristen moved from Wheeling, West Virginia to Martins Ferry, Ohio in late September 2006 to get away from her husband of three years, James, who was controlling and abusive. She took her two young sons and temporarily moved in with a friend at JayCee Manor Apartments.
At 1:00 a.m. on October 1, James came to her the apartment and asked Kristen to return home. The couple argued and Kristen’s friend heard her say, “Don’t hit me.” When her friend woke up, Kristen was gone and so was her cellular phone, but she left her purse, wallet and cigarettes behind.
Surveillance footage subsequently showed James carrying her body out of the apartment and put it in the trunk of his car. James subsequently told a friend he had killed Kristen. James took his own life when he found out about the surveillance video. He left a note saying Kristen’s body would never be found. In his dryer, police found a blanket and gloves with briars and burrs stuck to them. Foul play is suspected in Kristen’s case due to the circumstances involved.

Missing from: Chillicothe, Ohio Missing: May 6, 2014 DOB: June 5, 1986 Age at disappearance: 27 Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue […]

Missing from: Chillicothe, Ohio
Missing: May 6, 2014
DOB: June 5, 1986
Age at disappearance: 27
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5′ 4″
Weight: 150

Distinguishing Characteristics: Scars, Marks, Tattoos: Caucasian female. Charlotte has the following tattoos: the name “James” on her right breast, the name “Chloe” underneath a flower band on her arm, a Playboy bunny below the name “James” on upper her right arm, and a flower on her right ankle. She wears eyeglasses, and her ears are pierced. She has a history of depression and has attempted suicide before.

Details of Disappearance: Her mother reported her missing on May 18; she stated that in spite of Trego’s drug use, they were close and she doesn’t believe Trego would have stopped simply contacting her. A few weeks before her disappearance, Trego told her mother she wanted to turn her life around and asked her mother to find her a place in a rehabilitation program.

Her disappearance may be connected to the disappearances of Megan Lancaster, Holly Logan, Jayme Bowen and Wanda Lemons, and the deaths of Tameka Lynch and Tiffany Sayre. All the women were involved with drugs, some of them had places and people in common, and Trego, Lemons, Lynch and Sayre all disappeared from the same city in the same one-year period.

Trego and Lynch, who were friends, went missing on the same day: May 3, 2014. Lynch’s body was found in Paint Creek three weeks after her disappearance; the autopsy determined she’d died of multiple drug overdoses and the manner of death was undetermined. Lemons disappeared six months later, and on May 11, 2015, Sayre disappeared. Her body was found in a creek on June 19; she’d been murdered.

There’s speculation that a serial killer could be behind the disappearances and deaths, but no suspects have been named in any of the cases. They remain unsolved.

Missing from: Kettering, Ohio Missing: February 7, 1999 Age at disappearance: 9 Height: 3’ 11” Weight: 65 Hair: Blonde Eyes: […]

Missing: February 7, 1999
Age at disappearance: 9
Height: 3’ 11”
Weight: 65
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Hazel

Distinguishing Characteristics: Scars, Marks, Tattoos: Caucasian female. Erica has a scar on the inner arch of one of her feet. Her ears are pierced. Erica’s front teeth were crooked at the time of her 1999 disappearance. She has an oval-shaped, tan-colored birthmark, about the size of a dime, on one of her hips.

Circumstances of Disappearance: She was last seen when she left the house to walk her dog between 3 pm and 3:30 pm on February 7, 1999. The dog was later found but Erica has not been seen since. Police found few clues, but they developed a scenario based on sources that Erica had been struck by a car and one or more occupants picked up her body and hid it. Christian Gabriel was found guilty on one count of gross abuse of a corpse and one count of tampering with evidence.

In the search for the girl’s body, Gabriel took investigators to Eastwood Lake, Huffman MetroPark and finally to Caesar Creek State Park. In July 2004 he told Kettering police that he and three others were in a van when they struck Erica in the street. The other three buried her at Huffman MetroPark, he told police.

Four months later, his story changed. He was in the van with just one other person, Jan Franks, and they buried the body in a different location, according to his statement.

Three months later, his story changed again. This time he said he didn’t even own a van at the time of her disappearance. Baker’s body has never been found. A woman who police said was also in the van at the time died before she could tell authorities about the case.

Missing: August 28, 1996
Age at disappearance: 22
Height: 5’2″
Weight: 122
Hair: Brown
Eye: Brown

Distinguishing Characteristics: Scars, Marks, Tattoos: Caucasian female. Carrie’s ears are pierced. She has a tattoo of a sun on her inner right calf and a daisy on her right hip.

Details of Disappearance: Carrie dated Vincent “Vince” Doan from 1994 – 1996 in their hometown of Blanchester, Ohio. Their relationship was extremely volatile and abusive. She informed authorities that Doan smashed her car’s windows while she sat inside the vehicle and also hit her in the lower abdomen, bruising her kidneys, in 1995 and 1996. Carrie filed a criminal complaint of misdemeanor assault against Doan during the summer of 1996 after he allegedly hit her on the head with a space heater, requiring her to receive five surgical staples to close the wound. Carrie and Doan were scheduled to appear at a court hearing in early September 1996 regarding the complaint.

Carrie’s family told authorities that Doan abducted her and held her at gunpoint for five hours in on August 25, three days before she was last seen, before she convinced him to drive her home. They also stated that Doan was obsessed with Carrie and was very controlling.

Carrie was last seen at approximately 11:30 PM on August 28, 1996. She was dropped off at her residence after attending a volleyball game with two friends. One of her neighbors say she left the house in her car a few minutes after arriving. Carrie has never been heard from again and her red 1989 Honda CRX disappeared with her. She was missed at 6:00 a.m. the next morning when her mother noticed that her car was not in the driveway.

Doan was charged and tried for Carrie’s kidnapping and murder in 1997. He was originally charged with kidnapping only, but two counts of aggravated murder, reflecting two separate police theories of the killing, were added to the indictment five days before Doan was to go to trial.

The prosecution presented evidence that Doan was a very violent, controlling man whose abuse on Carrie had escalated into murder. One of Doan’s neighbors testified that she had seen him assaulting Carrie in his front yard on the morning of her disappearance. The ex-wife of Doan’s brother Tracey Baker said he appeared at the house she and Tracey shared at 3:15 a.m. that day, disheveled and appearing distraught. Blood was smeared on his clothing. Doan and Tracey drove away at 4:30 a.m. after Doan showered. They took a gun and some garbage bags. When they returned at approximately 5:00 a.m., both men had blood on them.

A cellmate of Doan’s also testified. They had been incarcerated together while Doan was awaiting trial. Doan allegedly told his cellmate that he thought Carrie had been cheating on him and he had to make her pay. He said he lay awake at night thinking of a hundred different ways to kill her.

Carrie’s family won a $3.75 million wrongful death lawsuit against the city in 2001. They paid the Carrie’s family $2 million and pledged to establish a memorial to domestic violence victims and make sure law enforcement officers will be trained further in handling domestic violence complaints. They will also continue searching for Carrie’s body. A plaque with her picture on it will hang in Blanchester Police Department’s front lobby until her remains are discovered. She has not yet been located and neither has her car.
