Details of Disappearance: Brookley was last seen at her residence in the vicinity of the 1400 block of Cottonwood Drive. She came home from work at approximately 4:00 pm to find that her computer was missing. She called her father and the police department to make a burglary report. At approximately 5:30 p.m., the report was filed and law enforcement left her residence. Brookley was possibly seen getting into the passenger side of her vehicle later that afternoon. Her vehicle was located abandoned on July 1st approximately 10 miles from her home. Even after her father’s untimely death four months after she disappeared, she has not been seen or heard from.
In July 2002, human blood was found in the home of 53-year-old Jason Nowicki, an acquaintance of Brookley’s. He was later arrested for firearms possession. The blood was positively matched to Brookley through a DNA test. In July 2003, Nowicki was released from prison, and died from cancer not long after. Brookley remains missing and is presumed dead, but her remains have not been located and no one has been charged in her disappearance.
