Details of Disappearance: Acacia was kidnapped around 6 PM from her great-grandmother’s home in Salt Lake City, Utah by her mentally ill grandmother, Kelley Lodmell. She claims she drowned the baby in the Snake River during a failed suicide/homicide attempt around 11:30 AM on Memorial Day. Divers searched the river at Idaho Falls for Acacia after Lodmell, who is described as a paranoid schizophrenic, told authorities she lost control of the girl while dangling her feet in the water. Acacia’s body has not been recovered and there is hope that she may have been passed off to one of Lodmell’s friends just before Lodmell jumped in the water. On Monday, January 3, 2005, Lodmell was found innocent of kidnapping by reason of insanity in Utah. She still faces charges of kidnapping and first degree murder in Bonneville County, Idaho.
