Gail Sole’s quiet demeanor belies the passion in her heart to find her missing daughter, Crystal. Gail visits her local police department weekly to keep up a presence and interest regarding leads that my assist in solving this case. Crystal went missing on January 24, 2005 from Andrews, SC.
Crystal’s mother seizes each day as a new opportunity to advocate for her daughter saying, “When I get up in the morning and when I go to bed, that’s the first thing I think about, my daughter. I wonder, what is today going to bring?”
She has been organizing public awareness campaigns for Crystal for several years in South Carolina.
Although Gail is grateful to the current Mayor Police Chief of Andrews, South Carolina for their tenacity, she regrets the previous handling of their case, in which former reports and interview recordings with people of interest are missing or may have been destroyed.
Crystal Soles, age 28 in 2005, a lovely blonde with blue eyes and double pierced ears, lived with her father and son. She was known to leave home intermittently for days at a time due to problems with substance abuse. Although she would leave home unannounced, she always made an effort to contact her son.
Prior to her disappearance, Crystal was last seen at the Shaw’s Corner Store in Andrews, near Jones Avenue and Main Street. At the time, the store owner confirmed that she purchased and ate a hot dog in the store and then made a call to her father requesting a ride home. However, her father reportedly was too ill to drive. Crystal then began to walk home and never arrived. It is suspected that she met with foul play.
This case remains active but unsolved.
