Details of Disappearance: Erin was last seen during the evening hours. She was given a ride by one of her brother’s friends to her friend’s house. The friend was not at home. As Erin walked back to her brother’s friend’s truck, a dark colored, early 1990′s model Chevrolet Cavalier or Impala with tinted rear windows pulled up. Erin had a brief conversation with an occupant in the car and told her brother’s friend that “these guys” would give her a ride. Because Erin seemed to know the occupant(s) in the car, her case was initially classified as a runaway. Her family believes that she was abducted. None of her friends have heard from her since she disappeared.
The investigation into Erin’s disappearance leans towards the theory that gang members in the areas of Cedar Rapids and Chicago, Illinois may have somehow been involved. She may have been seen in the spring of 2002 at a convenience store in Cedar Rapids, in the backseat of a car with Illinois license plates. However, police were unable to locate her or the vehicle.
