Distinguishing Characteristics: Scars, Marks, Tattoos: Caucasian female. Tara has a small tan-colored birthmark on the front of her shoulder. Her ears and navel are pierced.
Details of Disappearance: On October 24, 2005 at 8:50 a.m., the Ocilla Police Department responded to a missing person report made by neighbors and coworkers at the Irwin County High School. They were concerned because Tara Grinstead did not show up for work and they were unable to make contact with her.
The last known contact was on October 22, 2005 at approximately 11:00 p.m. There is no known description of her clothing. Her car was parked in the driveway of her residence, and her clothes from the 22nd and her cell phone were in the house. Her house was locked and the only items that appear to be missing are her purse and keys. Family members say that Tara never left without her cell phone. There have been numerous searches conducted by various local, state, and federal agencies. The GBI has interviewed a number of people and is reviewing the evidence they have.
